At St Helen’s Preschool, we believe that every child deserves a warm, nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow. Our dedicated team provides exceptional care, fostering kindness, curiosity, and confidence in every child.
With a focus on play-based learning and emotional well-being, we create a supportive space where little ones can thrive, build friendships, and develop a love for learning. Through gentle guidance and encouragement, we help each child take their first steps towards a bright and happy future.

30 Hours Funding
Extended entitlement for children from 9 months is available and offered to working parents who meet the national criteria.
Key Person
We believe that children settle best when they have a key person to relate to, who knows them and their parents well, and who can meet their individual needs.
We want children to feel safe, stimulated and happy in the setting and to feel secure and comfortable with staff. We also want parents to have confidence in both their children’s well-being and their role as active partners with the setting.
When your child starts with us
Before the child starts, you will be offered either a home visit or a welcome visit in the setting depending on the child’s needs or if a home visit is requested. This will be carried out by a member of the Leadership team and the Key Person. This is an ideal opportunity to begin building relationships between the key person and child and partnership with parents.
When the child starts to attend, we explain the process of settling-in with his/her parents and jointly decide on the best way to help the child to settle into the setting.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
The EYFS is the programme which we follow. There are four themes in the EYFS:
- • A Unique Child – about how children develop
- • Positive Relationships – about children learning to manage their feelings and build friendships
- • Enabling Environments – about how we plan for and check on each child’s progress
- • Learning and Development – about how children develop and learn in different ways
Uniform
We can provide uniform if you would like to purchase some for your child.
The prices are:
Sweatshirt – £10.00 T-shirt – £7.00
